She loved the way the sand would sink with each step she took. Solrush's massive paws left quite the mark on the wet sand along the beach; she recalled being self-conscious about that as a younger wolf, but now she was more or less unbothered by it. As she was with most minuscule things; it took quite a bit to get her stirred up these days. She credits living in such a soothing environment for her increasingly relaxed outlook on every day life.

Solrush found her usual basking spot along the beach; a large piece of the nearby cliff had fallen to the beach and in doing so, made the perfect bed. The sun was setting and hit the rock, warming it for the next creature to take comfort in. Hoisting her bulky frame onto the rock elicited a small grunt from her and a sigh as the warmth melted into her belly. Solrush unclamped her jaws to release the mouthful of berries she had been carrying. As a crafter, she made a variety of trinkets, but her favorite hobby was painting. Anyone wandering Tortuga was more likely than not going to run across one of her works. In her spare time, she often found wide trees, stones, or simply dry ground as the canvas to her art.

She began with mixing different berries to get them to the colors she desired. Drawing inspiration from the pink and orange skies, Solrush decided she would recreate the sunset on the open spot in front of her. While some berries were bitter to her, the ones she chose for today seemed sweet. Sol ran her tongue around her snout as some of the juices splashed onto her as she blended.

As to be expected, Solrush soon smelled a packmate nearby. Tortuga had a fair amount of members, so she was used to crossing paths with others more often than not. Her lips curled up into a little smirk when she recognized the familiar scent of her feline friend.

Shaking sand from every paw step he was making his way to where he saw Solrush sitting on his rock. He had only had eight naps today and that was his favorite evening spot where he could get the last of the days warmth. With a grunt(well... it was a chirp let be real) he alighted onto the rock and quickly climbed over her body, through her "painting", swatted a berry into the sand and tucked his paws into a comfortable position exactly in the spot she had started painting on. The last of the sun's rays were making him purr.

"Its terrible form ta be squishing berries inta perfectly good spots, lass." He rumbled at her while he settled, thrashing his tail to prove his point.

As she could've guessed, Fisk trod right through the beginnings of her artwork. Sol wasn't mad, it really wasn't anything she had worked all that hard on. She smiled, chuckled, and rolled over onto her back, lazily sprawling her legs in any direction they'd go.

Don't be such a bore, Fisk, she huffed playfully, nudging the cat with her muzzle. The color brings a pop of fun to the blank spots of Tortuga, no?

Solrush enjoyed her packmate's company, he was grumpy but she liked teasing him and purposefully annoying him with her goofy affection. She also liked hearing his pirate stories. Again, it was amusing how such a small animal could feel so big at the same time. A lot can be said for a good personality. While Solrush had a personality, she was also quite large.

The cat cracked a peek at the sunshine wolf when she said it brought some fun color to the blank spots of Tortuga.

"The riffraff don't need no more color." He said with a low growl, and shut his eye again, "Y'all certen ta have enuff color." He had never seen so much color among members of a crew. Sure there were humans of different hues, some had red hair, and black hairs and yellow. There were even some humans that painted themselves with bright colors. But never in his life until he washed up on this crazy coast had he ever seen a wolf quite like... That. Bright screaming yellow like the bloomin sun. And a black lion, who had ever seen a black lion like that either. And a dumb golden retriever with bright bloomin blue ears. He'd never.

"Never seen anyone paintin no colors on the decks." He continued gruffly as he dozed with his eyes closed to the fading sunbeams, "though fer certin if ther 'ad been, maybe morale wood'av ben higha." It was a compliment. He tried.

He had a point; many of the wolves in Tortuga were quite colorful. Solrush didn't mind, she embraced anything that inspired her artistic mind. Some colors were just so boring, especially if everyone looked the same. She had never seen a human being before, but she heard that they all looked very alike.

Fisk, she began, resting her chin on her giant paws. What are humans like? I can't say I've ever even seen one before.

Sol had more or less picked up on Fisk's disguised compliment. She decided he meant well and took the comment as a grumpy approval of her work. Not that Solrush needed anyone's approval to go about her artistic ways, but it felt good to be lifted up every once in a while, even if it was subtle.

I mean...you would know what they're like, right? You said once or twice how you have been on a ship, she continued. In actuality, the feline had likely mentioned his pirate past more than once or twice, but she wasn't about to chide him for it.

"Humans, eh?"  Fisk cracked his purple eye at her. He wasn't going to get his ninth nap in today was he? He stretched out with his flame orange stripe paws and flayed his razor sharp talons. Licking his lips he sat up and looked her square in the face with a look of mock judgement. As if he was discerning whether or not she was worthy or ready for the information.

He huffed out his nose at her then stuck his leg up in the air for a thorough grooming, nigh kicking her in the face with his soft pink pads.
When he was satisfied with the amount of time he had to think it over he scuffed another berry on to the ground and walked in a circle before tucking his paws in and thrashing his tail as he hunched. He squinted at her again almost disapprovingly with his ears half pinned back.

"Noisy, naked beasts that all stumbol 'round in the black. I'm sure if they di'n't have their nets they woud'n't know the first thing 'bout huntin. Ya shoul' see them when a rat comes 'round, they all jump and squaw like pigs." He said all superior with his nose high and his eyes closed turning away from her. Then he licked his chest and rubbed his face with his paw.

"Make good pets though. They warm laps and all. And them buildin things somehow stay up and typically wont sink unless thay shoot a cannonball at it." He shrugged and settled down on her painting again.
