sign and mouthing are in #6f00ff
The same freedom you feel
Is what's been blowing in my sail
Since I arrived here

A fresh spring rain fell at a steady pace from the mid-morning sky, the forest mostly hushed save for a few birds that still sang their little songs, nestled away within her den slept Fini. The blue female dozed soundlessly, safe and warm from the drizzle of raindrops.

A pleasant dream of a familiar face gripped her full, lulled into a false comfort by the dusky Kroni, the other female's nose nuzzling against Fini's cheek fur as the pair laid side by side next to a river. The surrounds where blurry, unfocused, but there were shades of green and brown, mixed with some pop of vibrant colors. It felt so real, and her mind would have allowed her to think it. "I missed you." Came her softly sweet voice, unnatural, foreign, and lightly accented. Kroni turned, golden gaze boring into her and her mouth opened to reply. CAW!!

Startled from her sleep, eyes opened wide and fur bristled as the blue female glanced around, a silent shout strained from her throat and her eyes finally met what had caused her little scare. A curious crow had poked its head into her humble little abode. Fini blinked at it for a moment and it blinked back, head turning from side to side as it studied her and she studied it. A simple movement of her paws and it hopped away, bumping into the side of the den slightly and going into a spooked frenzy, flapping about madly and finally taking flight.

She stepped out of the den then with a stretch of her back legs and and a yawn as droplets of water began to hit her pelt, flinching as she looked up at the gray sky. Blue gaze trailed back to look for the crow, but instead she caught the dusky-dark coat of a stranger instead. She'd feel her heart nearly leap from her chest, as she stood like a deer in headlights, tail giving an idle wag here and there. Kroni?! The blue girl finally managed to sign.

To the sea I ran, from the sea, I return

Schools of fish scattered as the hellion propelled himself through the water with his modified tail, breaking the surface on occasion for a breath before diving back into the depths. He'd been away from Gemini for several moons, an impromptu visit to his childhood home had lasted longer than he'd anticipated but he was finally on his way back. The familiar black sand beach and tall cliffs came into view over the horizon, excitement filled him and drove him faster towards the welcoming shores of his home. From here he remained on the surface, dog-paddling through the surf, tongue hanging out of his open mouth.

Joy filled the boy as he made it past the break and got into shallow water, he let out a low howl as he bounded through the waves, 'I'm home! I'm home!' it said. He scanned the shoreline looking for familiar faces, eager to reunite with his friends or meet the newcomers.

She stepped onto a rock that hung on a ledge as if it were going to fall. This was it. This was the spot her mother, and her mothers mother came to stay. She could still smell the familiar scent of them. Sweet but tangy. After a few moments she lifted her head, and let out a deep and bellowing howl. It rung in her ears. And her til had fell over the rock as if a target. The howl faded off into the distance, and she opened her eyes. Not only did she think she was alone but she also though there was no one to hear her howl. Did she think she would never come here? Yes, yes she did. Yet here she is.

She sat and looked down before. She thought for several moments and then lifted herself up with a loud grunt. She heard a soft crunch of leaves and she froze, not out of fear but out of curiosity. She moved forward with a hard swallow. Was there someone here? Was it a bear?
Her green eyes shone bright with curiosity when she growled. Although she wasn't an average sized wolf, she thought of herself as a dire. She the was about two fox lengths away from the stranger when she said with a choked up voice:
"Umm H-Hello?"

Sunny days are meant to be filled with exploration and adventure, and one girl took advantage of that idea. A cool, sea breeze blew across the territory as an invitation. The girl ran against the wind, relishing in the spring breeze that flew past her coat. As a winter pup, she had yet to experience warm temperatures. Besides being huddled up to her family in the castle for warmth, this temperature was foreign to her in the outside world. The endless white melted away, only to be replaced by an endless green. The spring rains brought the land to life, springing forth new, colorful flora. The young princess was amazed at how much the land changed over the course of a couple months, and it made her all the more excited to see what other changes the land had in store.

The more she ran toward the coast, the louder the waves became as she approached. She came to a halt at the edge of the rocky cliffs to gaze down on the crashing waves below, or what she could see of it. The mists that rose from the furious waves dampened her coat, sea spray making her screw up her face to shield her eyes. The cool spray came as a relief from the warmer weather, though, despite barely being able to see anything. The wind buffeted her fur, flattening it against her hide, her bangs no longer reaching towards her eyes. Craning her head, she sniffed the strong winds, the scent of saltwater greeting her nose. Although it didn't entice her down for a drink, there was something oddly refreshing about the scent. She felt the need to get closer to the waters, but wasn't inclined to go rock climbing again. However, the girl knew of a place where the rocks opened up to allow safe passage between the tower and the highlands. That would be her safest bet, and so she turned and made her way toward the break in the rocks.

Ahsoka didn't stop when she reached the break, and instead hurled herself towards the black, sandy beach. The blue waves rolled in from the sea and lapped at the shore. They were more gentle here than at the cliffside, and the young girl was able to go up to the water's edge, letting the smooth waves engulf her small paws. She couldn't help but giggle when she felt the foam from the waves glide past her legs. Fidgeting her toes, she buried them in the soft sand as she closed her eyes and lifted her head into the ocean breeze once again. Taking in a big swig of air, she sighed in contentment.

Then, slowly, she opened her eyes....

"WOAH!" she hollered as she jumped back, landing smack dab on her butt with a loud "OOF!" as water droplets scattered around her. Scarlet eyes stared in shock at the black and white figures ahead of her, rising out of the water like great towers, before coming back down with a huge splash. Some would breach, others would simply wave their huge tails before submerging again, and some would spray jets of water out of their backs. In other words, these things were weird, ginormous, and AWESOME!

Ahsoka got to her feet again, not taking her eyes off the strange creatures. Soon, a huge grin crossed her muzzle. She had to know what these things were, even if they were dangerous. Bounding across the beach, she searched for a place where she could get as close as possible without the waves taking her out to sea. So far, no dice. It was high tide, so any rocks that may have been visible before were now underwater.

However, as each moment passed, it appeared as if the giant creatures were getting closer....

ooc: @Bea Let's go whale surfing!!

As far as I can see
There is nothing left of me
All my time in hell was spent with you

Mother. Mother. Mother. The word echoed within her mind, it radiated within her chest, and it clung tightly to her side, wrapped within the warmth of her curled locks. The female shifted, nuzzling the sleeping boy just barely enough that he rolled away from her touch. The winter had passed and spring had sprung, her son was not as small as he once was and she found that nothing had been any easier.

How strange it felt to be just as clueless as the day she had adopted him, wishing nothing more than to be a good mother to the boy. Against her side was another. The moon-touched knight, she turned her head slightly to glimpse at him as he slept peacefully and soundlessly.

The winter had been a harsh one, the trio hardly moved since, waiting for the weather to clear. Though the Apostle had a sinking feeling that them finding a new home was a dream turned sour. Borogrove was all she and the boy had ever known. Templar had come from a rich history with roots that extended far and wide. They'd know the sting of loss, Cain, their boy... No, her boy, had felt it much too early.

She had cradled him so much during the the winter, held him closer and tighter as the cold months dragged on. He would be loved, Filianore would make sure of that. The bright beams of the early morning sun cut through the rocky hollow of their den, pale gaze would look to the bright morning outside. The blades of grass illuminated by the dazzling rays, the chirping of birds and the welcoming of warmth. She'd slowly rise, though her legs begged her to lay back down and rest, she'd gently brush a paw over the boy and nuzzle at the Knight who only grumbled softly in his sleep.

The wolfdog staggered out of the den, squinting as the sun blared it's bright beams against her, she walked a little ways before coming to rest in the grass. The dew still collecting on the blades and there was a bit of a fog that crested over the lower areas of the field she had found. A figure in the distance caught her eye and she tilted her head, thinking at first that it might be best to leave them be, but her curiosity got the better of her. A tired smile pulled at her lips as she walked closer, a coat of browns and greys.  "Good morning, I'm sorry to bother you. I just- I saw you sitting alone and thought you'd like some company." She said craning her neck out slightly as her collar caught a bit of sun, the golden thread glinting in the light. "I'm Filianore." Over head clouds could be seen, no doubt another spring downfall would be in store.

For sign and thoughts, #6f00ff
The moment when a memory aches

A long winter had turned to spring, the cold had wanted for so long to keep it's wintry grasp upon everything, but spring managed to edge it's way forward. They could look toward the dawn and begin again.

But winter held many losses, and a great many painful memories, past traumas bubbled beneath the surface, and it was simply just hard to tell oneself to forget. The blue female stalked out of her small den, hidden by ferns and an over grown holly bush. The sunlight breaking through the trees, as green buds swayed gently in a light breeze.

There was still a chill in the air, but the more the sun poured through on bright days like these the more certain she was of a promising summer. There'd be warmer days and lots of them. Though Fini's mind wandered back upon thoughts of Kroni and Saboro, the pair having been split apart from each other due to a whiteout. Her heart sank, each morning she sniffed about her humble dwellings, each day going a little further, but she hadn't yet been able to find the other.

Kroni was a resourceful girl, far more capable than Fini could ever imagine. Just as the days grew warmer, she was certain that the darkling girl would come back to her. Their paths were forever intertwined after all. Somewhere in the desert there's a forest. Paws finally came to a halt, blue eyes glancing down at the stream before her. The fresh scent of damp moss filling her nostrils. The dainty female would sit back on her haunches, ears twitching ever so slightly to far off birdsongs, but her eyes remained ever focused upon the water.

This is open to anyone and everyone, even those that may want to rough him up a bit.

Somehow, it had found him again.

That unrelenting, unforgiving sadness had once again crept into the very depths of his being.  It wrapped itself around his bones, and burrowed itself deep into every crevice of the boys fragile heart, like a bacteria it had begun to spread.  It started as a nagging voice in the back of his head, nipping and stuttering, making its way into his thoughts.  At first he ignored it, he found it easy to brush aside, like a stray hair waving in your peripheral vision.  He distracted himself with the views and the fauna he interacted with.  It was easy when the sun awake, and high in the sky.  As the sun set, he found it more difficult to brush away that feeling, and it spread within him like a winter chill, settling to the bone, piercing even the most protected parts.

Nights like tonight Ori found it difficult to sleep, his mind wrestling with so many thoughts, that creeping cold flooding into his head.  Heaving a heavy sigh, he re-positioned his head to lay on his crossed paws, staring out into the creek nearby, the moonlight reflecting off the rippling waters.  It reminded him of home, of the ocean and the way the waves crashed onto the beach.  A tired smile crossed the ghostly boys face, the corners of his lips tugged upwards, as he remembered frolicking with his family, happier times.  Better times.  Lips fell back down, as the sadness crept back over him.  Things would not be that happy again, not like they were when everyone was there.  Ori knew what happened to Tauro, but he did not know what happened to Kariya.  He had hoped he would find his brother out here, trying to find himself, but somehow, deep down, Ori knew he wasn’t going to find him, the sadness whispered it to him in the wind.  The wind whispered many things to him as of late, many good, others bad, he paid no mind most of the time, but tonight- the wind whispered something that he listened to- something he was ready to hear.

-It was time to go home.

Lifting himself up, and shaking off the dirt and the grime, the ghostly white wolf went to get a drink from the creek, and when he finished, turned back to pick up the stone he’d found in the river bed days before.  He couldn’t bring Kariya home for Serrate, and he knew a stone would never replace her son, but perhaps it could try to bring her peace.  Except when he returned to his resting spot, the stone was gone.  His brow furrowed, and he looked around feverishly for it.  “Oh no-  oh no please, where did it go?”  He asked quietly to himself, his voice straining slightly.  “Oh no, oh dear… Oh goodness…”  Ori pleaded with himself, with the stone, with the universe in general, even perhaps with anyone nearby who might’ve taken it while he wasn’t looking.
